Bet365 General Terms and Definitions

These Betting Rules (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”) govern the acceptance of bets, the settlement of winnings, dispute resolution procedures, sport-specific betting provisions, and all other relations between the company and its customers. The Rules apply to all bets placed through the Bet365 official website, mobile platform, and retail betting outlets where applicable. Customers are required to read and understand these Rules in full prior to placing any bet. By placing a bet, a customer confirms unconditional acceptance of these Rules in their entirety.

These Rules form a legally binding agreement between the customer and the operator. Any bet placed on the platform is subject to the provisions set out herein, as well as any sport-specific or product-specific rules that may apply in addition to these general provisions.

Glossary of Key Terms

Bet
A bet is a financial wager placed by a customer on a specific outcome of an event, accepted by us under the terms and conditions applicable at the time of placement. A bet becomes binding upon confirmation of acceptance.

Outcome
An outcome is the result of a specific selection or market on which a bet has been placed. The outcome is determined by the official result of the relevant event as recognised by the applicable governing body or, where applicable, in accordance with our settlement rules.

Customer
A customer is any individual who has registered an account, has been verified in accordance with applicable identity verification requirements, and is eligible to place bets under the Rules and the laws of the jurisdiction in which they reside.

Bet Cancellation
A bet cancellation is the voiding of an accepted bet, resulting in the return of the original stake to the customer’s account. Bet cancellations may occur due to technical errors, rule violations, event cancellations, known outcomes at the time of bet placement, or other circumstances outlined within these Rules.

Regular Time
Regular time refers to the standard duration of a sporting event as defined by the relevant governing body, excluding extra time, penalty shootouts, overtime periods, or any other extensions unless explicitly stated otherwise in the applicable sport-specific rules or market description.

General Terms

The following provisions establish the main rules governing the relationship between the operator and customers in India. They cover eligibility, account use, bet acceptance and settlement, as well as the rights and responsibilities of both parties.

Customer Eligibility

Only individuals who meet all of the following conditions are permitted to place bets:

  • The customer must be at least 18 years of age;
  • The customer must have successfully completed the account registration process;
  • The customer must not be excluded from betting for any reason, including self-exclusion or exclusion imposed by the operator;
  • The customer must be accessing the platform from a jurisdiction in which use of the services is permitted under applicable law.

Documentary proof of age may be requested at any time. Accounts belonging to underage individuals may be suspended, related bets voided, and funds returned in accordance with applicable requirements.

Jurisdictional Restrictions

Customers are responsible for checking whether betting services are permitted in their jurisdiction. The legality of access may differ between locations, and using the platform from a restricted jurisdiction is done at the customer’s own risk.

Account Usage

Only one account may be registered per customer. Accounts must not be shared with other individuals or operated on behalf of third parties. Duplicate accounts, false identities, or attempts to bypass account restrictions may lead to suspension, cancellation of related bets, and removal of funds where permitted by the rules.

Bet Acceptance

The operator may refuse or limit a bet at its discretion. A wager becomes binding only after confirmation has been issued. Minimum and maximum stake limits may apply and can vary by market or account.

Bet Settlement

Wagers are settled according to the applicable betting rules and sport-specific provisions in effect when the bet was placed. Official results from the relevant governing body are used for settlement. Where an official result is disputed or delayed, settlement may be postponed until the outcome is confirmed.

Void Bets

A bet may be voided when:

  • The event is cancelled or abandoned;
  • The wager was accepted due to an error in odds, market details, or event information;
  • The outcome was already known when the bet was placed;
  • The wager breached the applicable rules or law;
  • A technical issue affected acceptance or processing;
  • The event is linked to fraud, match-fixing, or other integrity concerns.

Where a wager is voided, the original stake is normally returned to the account.

Payment of Winnings

Settled winnings are credited to the account after the relevant event is completed. Payments may be delayed while suspected fraud, rule breaches, or integrity issues are reviewed. Winnings obtained through a breach of the rules may be withheld.

Suspicious Betting Activity and Match-Fixing

Betting activity may be monitored for unusual or potentially suspicious patterns. Wagers connected with suspected manipulation or integrity issues may be reviewed or voided. Relevant cases may also be reported to regulatory, sporting, or law enforcement authorities where required.

Bookmaker Rights

The operator may:

  • Refuse, limit, or cancel bets;
  • Correct odds or market information before acceptance;
  • Suspend or close betting markets;
  • Void wagers in accordance with the applicable rules;
  • Take reasonable measures to protect platform and betting integrity.

Liability Limitations

Liability is generally limited to the stake placed on the relevant bet. No responsibility is accepted for indirect losses, lost profits, technical interruptions, or settlement delays. Customers remain responsible for complying with applicable rules and laws.

Amendments to the Rules

The rules may be updated from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Customers should review the current version before placing bets. Continued use of the platform after updated terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised rules.

General Betting Rules

The provisions in this section govern the placement, acceptance, settlement, and cancellation of bets on the Bet365 platform, as well as the operation of special features including Cash Out and Auto Cash Out.

Stake Limits

Bet365 applies minimum and maximum stake limits to all markets. These limits may vary by market type, event, sport, and individual customer account. We reserve the right to alter applicable stake limits at any time and without prior notice. Customers are required to verify applicable limits before placing any bet. Where a submitted stake exceeds the applicable maximum, the bet may be declined or accepted at a reduced stake at our discretion.

Bet Acceptance

A bet is considered accepted only upon the issuance of a confirmation. Until such confirmation is received, no binding agreement exists between the customer and the operator. Bets submitted during periods of suspended markets, technical outages, or following the start of an event (unless in-play betting is expressly available) will not be accepted. The odds displayed at the point of bet submission are subject to change until acceptance is confirmed. Bet365 is under no obligation to accept any bet and may decline submissions without providing a reason.

Odds and Changes

Odds offered on any market are determined solely by us and are subject to change at any time prior to acceptance. Acceptance of a bet at specified odds does not guarantee that the same odds will remain available for subsequent bets. Errors in displayed odds may be corrected, and bets accepted as a result of such errors may be voided, regardless of whether the event has been settled.

Bet Settlement

Bets are settled in accordance with the Rules applicable at the time of placement and the official result of the relevant event as recognised by the applicable governing body. Settlement will not be processed until the official result is confirmed. In markets where the result is subject to official review, protest, or appeal, settlement may be deferred until a final determination is made. Post-settlement corrections may be applied if an error in settlement is identified, including recovery of funds where applicable.

Void Bets

Bets may be voided in circumstances including, but not limited to:

Acceptance as a result of an error in odds, event information, or market description;
Placement on an event subsequently cancelled, postponed beyond the applicable timeframe, or abandoned;
Identification of a known outcome at the time of placement;
Evidence of fraud, collusion, or integrity violations;
Technical failures that materially affected bet processing;
Violation of applicable Rules.

All voided bets result in the return of the original stake to the customer’s account. No winnings are payable on voided bets.

Event Postponements and Cancellations

If an event is postponed, Bet365 will apply settlement rules in accordance with the applicable sport-specific provisions. Events rescheduled within a defined period, as specified in the relevant sport rules, may be settled on the outcome of the rescheduled event. Events postponed beyond the applicable timeframe, or cancelled without rescheduling, will result in the voiding of all affected bets and the return of stakes.

Winnings Calculation

Winnings are calculated based on the accepted stake multiplied by the confirmed odds at the time of bet acceptance. For accumulator or combination bets, winnings are calculated by applying the relevant formula to all included selections. Winnings are subject to applicable maximum payout limits, which may vary by sport, market, and event. Where a calculated payout exceeds the applicable maximum, settlement will be made at the capped amount.

Cash Out

The Cash Out feature allows customers to settle an open bet before the conclusion of the relevant event, at a value determined by Bet365 at the time the Cash Out is requested. The availability of Cash Out is not guaranteed on any market and may be suspended or removed at any time without prior notice. The value offered through Cash Out reflects current market conditions and may be higher or lower than the original stake. Acceptance of a Cash Out offer is final and constitutes full settlement of the relevant bet at the agreed value.

Auto Cash Out

Auto Cash Out enables customers to pre-set a Cash Out value at which an open bet will be automatically settled if that value becomes available. There is no guarantee that Auto Cash Out instructions will be executed at the specified value, as market fluctuations, liquidity constraints, or system limitations may prevent execution. Bet365 accepts no liability for failure to execute an Auto Cash Out instruction. Auto Cash Out may be suspended or deactivated at any time. All determinations regarding Cash Out and Auto Cash Out pricing, availability, and restrictions are made solely by Bet365.

Accounts, Deposits and Withdrawals

This section sets out the rules governing account registration, identity verification, account security, fund management, and the rights of Bet365 in relation to account administration and financial transactions.

Account Registration

Customers must complete the account registration process accurately and in full. All information provided during registration must be true, current, and complete. Customers are required to provide a valid name, date of birth, residential address, contact details, and any other information requested during the registration process. Providing false or misleading information constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in account suspension or permanent closure.

Only one account per individual is permitted. Registration of duplicate accounts, whether under the same or different personal details, is strictly prohibited. Where duplicate accounts are identified, we reserve the right to close all associated accounts, void all bets placed from those accounts, and withhold any outstanding funds pending review.

Identity Verification (KYC)

Bet365 is required to verify the identity of all customers in accordance with applicable regulatory and legal obligations. Customers may be required to submit identity documents, proof of address, and other supporting documentation at any point during the lifecycle of their account, including at registration, prior to processing a withdrawal, or during an investigation.

Accepted documents may include, but are not limited to:

  • Government-issued photo identification (passport, national identity card, or driving licence);
  • Proof of residential address (utility bill or bank statement issued within three months);
  • Proof of payment method ownership;
  • Source of funds documentation where required.

Failure to provide requested documentation within the specified timeframe may result in account restriction, suspension of withdrawal processing, or account closure.

Account Security

Customers are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials, including their username and password. Customers must not share account access with any third party. Any activity carried out using a customer’s login credentials is the sole responsibility of that customer, unless the customer has reported unauthorised access in advance of such activity occurring.

Customers are advised to use a unique, strong password and to update it regularly. We will never request a customer’s password through any communication channel. Customers who suspect unauthorised access to their account must contact us immediately.

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension, closure, and forfeiture of funds:

  • Registration or use of duplicate accounts;
  • Providing false or misleading information during registration or verification;
  • Use of another person’s account or payment method;
  • Collusion, match-fixing, or any form of fraudulent activity;
  • Exploitation of technical errors, system vulnerabilities, or promotional terms for financial gain;
  • Use of automated software, bots, or artificial intelligence tools to place bets or interact with the platform;
  • Any activity that is in violation of applicable law.

Fraud Prevention

Fraud detection systems are used to monitor account activity, betting patterns, and financial transactions. Where suspicious activity is identified, we may take immediate action including account restriction, suspension of withdrawals, or account closure. We reserve the right to share relevant information with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, and financial institutions in connection with fraud investigations.

Account Suspension and Closure

Bet365 may suspend or permanently close an account at its sole discretion in cases of:

  • Breach of these Terms or applicable law;
  • Confirmed or suspected fraud, including identity fraud or payment fraud;
  • Use of duplicate accounts;
  • Misuse of promotions or bonus offers;
  • Suspicious betting activity or association with match-fixing;
  • Failure to complete identity verification within the required timeframe;
  • Inactivity over an extended period, in accordance with applicable regulations.

Upon account closure, outstanding funds that are not subject to withholding or forfeiture will be returned to the customer through an approved payment method, subject to completion of identity and payment verification.

Deposits

Customers may fund their accounts using the payment methods available on the platform at the time of deposit. All deposits must be made from a payment method registered in the customer’s own name. Third-party payment sources are not accepted. Minimum and maximum deposit limits apply and may vary by payment method. Deposits are generally credited to the account without delay, though processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.

We reserve the right to decline deposits at our discretion, including where there is a concern regarding the source of funds or compliance with applicable regulations.

Withdrawals

Withdrawal requests are subject to identity and payment verification prior to processing. Customers may only withdraw funds to a payment method that has been verified and that was used to make a deposit, where applicable. Withdrawals are processed within the timeframes specified on the platform, which may vary by payment method.

Withdrawal requests may be delayed or withheld in the following circumstances:

  • Identity or payment verification has not been completed;
  • An investigation into the account is ongoing;
  • There is a suspicion of fraud, money laundering, or other prohibited activity;
  • Active bets remain unsettled that may affect the available balance;
  • The account is subject to a restriction imposed by the operator or a regulatory authority.

We reserve the right to impose minimum and maximum withdrawal limits, which may be amended at any time. Customers are responsible for any fees charged by their payment provider in connection with withdrawal transactions.

Bookmaker Rights During Investigations

During any investigation into suspected fraud, rule violations, regulatory breaches, or other compliance concerns, Bet365 reserves the right to:

  • Restrict or suspend account access;
  • Place a hold on withdrawal processing;
  • Void bets associated with the account under investigation;
  • Withhold funds until the investigation is concluded;
  • Share relevant account information with applicable authorities.

These actions do not constitute a waiver of any legal rights held by the operator and may be taken simultaneously with any legal proceedings.

Responsible Gambling

Bet365 is committed to promoting responsible gambling and to providing customers with the tools and information necessary to maintain control over their betting activity. The platform recognises that gambling can pose risks to certain individuals and maintains a range of protective measures to support customers who may be affected.

Player Protection Tools

Registered customers have access to a range of tools designed to support responsible gambling. These tools may be applied directly through the account settings or by contacting the customer support team.

Available controls include:

  • Deposit Limits: Customers may set daily, weekly, or monthly limits on the amount that can be deposited into their account. Once set, these limits take effect immediately and cannot be increased without a mandatory cooling-off period;
  • Loss Limits: Customers may restrict the total amount that can be lost over a defined period, preventing further betting activity once the limit is reached;
  • Wagering Limits: Restrictions may be placed on the total stake that can be placed over a specified period;
  • Session Time Limits: Customers may set limits on the duration of individual betting sessions, after which they will be automatically logged out;
  • Reality Checks: Periodic notifications can be enabled to inform customers of the time elapsed during a betting session;
  • Self-Exclusion: Customers who believe they may have a problem with gambling may request self-exclusion, which prevents access to the account for a defined period or indefinitely. Self-exclusion requests are processed promptly and cannot be reversed during the specified period.

Risk Self-Assessment

Customers are encouraged to periodically assess their gambling behaviour using self-assessment questionnaires available on the platform. These tools are intended to help customers identify patterns that may indicate problematic gambling and to make informed decisions about their continued use of the platform.

Support and Assistance

Customers who are concerned about their gambling, or that of someone they know, are encouraged to seek assistance from independent support organisations. The following organisations provide free, confidential support for individuals affected by gambling-related harm:

  • Gamblers Anonymous India: A peer support organisation for individuals seeking to address compulsive gambling (www.gamblersanonymous.org);
  • iGaming Responsible: An international resource providing guidance and tools for responsible gambling;
  • BeGambleAware: An independent charity providing information and support for problem gambling (www.begambleaware.org).

Bet365 does not provide clinical or counselling services. Customers in need of professional assistance are directed to appropriate external organisations.

Minor Protection

Bet365 does not permit individuals under the age of 18 to register an account or place bets. Customers who share a device with minors are advised to use parental control tools available through third-party providers to prevent unauthorised access to gambling platforms. Any account found to belong to a person under the minimum age will be closed immediately.

Anti-Money Laundering

Bet365 operates in compliance with applicable anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) legislation. The platform maintains robust policies, procedures, and technical systems designed to detect, prevent, and report financial crimes in accordance with legal obligations.

Legal Obligations

Bet365 is legally required to identify and verify the identity of its customers, monitor financial transactions conducted through the platform, and report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. These obligations arise from applicable AML and CTF legislation and are non-negotiable. Compliance with these requirements takes precedence over any commercial considerations.

Identity Verification (KYC)

As part of its AML framework, Bet365 applies a Know Your Customer (KYC) process to all customer accounts. Customers are required to provide accurate personal information at the time of registration and to submit supporting documentation upon request. KYC verification may be initiated at any stage of the account lifecycle, including prior to processing a withdrawal or following the identification of unusual account activity.

Documentation required under the KYC process may include:

  • Valid government-issued photo identification;
  • Proof of current residential address;
  • Evidence of the source of funds deposited into the account;
  • Documentation verifying ownership of payment methods used.

Customers who fail to complete KYC requirements within the specified timeframe may have their account restricted or permanently closed.

Transaction Monitoring

All financial transactions conducted through the Bet365 platform are subject to automated monitoring. The transaction monitoring system analyses patterns of deposits, withdrawals, and betting activity to identify indicators of potential money laundering or terrorism financing. Monitoring is conducted on a continuous basis and applies to all customers regardless of their transaction history or account standing.

Suspicious Activity Detection

Where the transaction monitoring system or manual review identifies activity that may be indicative of money laundering, terrorism financing, or other financial crime, Bet365 will take appropriate action. This may include:

  • Placing a temporary hold on account activity or withdrawals pending further review;
  • Requesting additional documentation to clarify the source of funds or the nature of transactions;
  • Filing a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) or equivalent disclosure with the relevant financial intelligence unit or regulatory authority;
  • Permanently restricting or closing the account.

Bet365 is legally prohibited from disclosing to a customer that a SAR has been filed or that an investigation is underway. This restriction is a legal obligation and applies irrespective of the outcome of any investigation.

Consequences of Policy Violations

Customers found to be in breach of AML obligations or to have engaged in financial crime through the platform may be subject to the following consequences:

  • Immediate account suspension or permanent closure;
  • Freezing or blocking of funds held in the account pending regulatory or legal direction;
  • Reporting of relevant information to law enforcement agencies, financial regulators, and other competent authorities;
  • Legal action where appropriate under applicable law.

Bet365 cooperates fully with all regulatory and law enforcement investigations and will provide relevant information as required by law.
